Overview
Brabble began with an idea to interact via cell phones' video cameras, allowing users to argue and debate political views (hence the name, deriving from a slang for the word 'argument'). The concept pivoted and expanded, and Brabble evolved into far more. Today, Brabble allows you to post any form of media chosen, as well as replying to posts (Brabble Back) with audio, video, pictures, and text. States CEO and Founder Patrick Mackaronis: “Brabble is highly interactive and engaging, allowing users to communicate in an intimate way unavailable on other social networks”.
Users
Brabble allows users to message and comment back to posts (called "Brabble back") utilizing video, photo, audio and text. Users can also share information to Facebook and Twitter, record audio directly using mobile devices, and record video directly using the front or back mobile cameras. Also featured in Brabble are the My Feed and Explore pages, which display followed users, popular users, and new posts.
Investors
Unlike many social apps, Brabble embeds native revenue generating technology, increasing the strength of ROI for investors. This revenue model centers around *Star Tags, which work similarly to affiliate links. These tags allow the development team to post programmable links into posts that can be shared to Facebook and Twitter. When the links are clicked, it directs traffic to destinations relating to e-commerce. When a sale is made, Brabble collects a small percentage revenue share from the advertiser, which is distributed to investors.
History
Brabble began in January 2013 with an idea from Patrick Mackaronis that people should be able to take political arguments and differences off of Facebook and onto a dedicated platform. He quickly brought on several other thought leaders, including Jeff DePalma. The iOS and Android apps were launched on the Google Play Store and the App Store in May 2013.
As the concept grew, the idea expanded to the point where it became its own social network. Once Brabble allowed the integration of multimedia and advertisement, the company began seeking out investors to grow their business model.
In April 2014, Brabble began expanding awareness through entertainment advertising and sponsorships. They executed a spring marketing campaign that includes rock music festivals, EDM conferences, urban music tours, college marketing programs and celebrity tie-ins.
