Box8 was founded by Anshul Gupta and Amit Raj, both IIT Alumni in 2012. Before Box8, the duo had ventured into QSR style Mexican food chain called Poncho in 2011. In 2012, the company expanded its menu to include Indian meals and adopted the name Box8.
Service
Consumers can order the food online via the GPS enabled app (available for Android and IOS) or the website which can detect the location of the consumer and map it to the nearest outlet. The food is delivered to the consumer's location or can be picked up at the nearest outlet.
The payment options include online payment via credit and debit cards, net banking, cash on delivery and wallets such as Paytm, Mobikwik and Ola Money. On 8 November 2016, a day after the ‘Demonitization’ move in India, the ‘Online Payment on Delivery’ feature was introduced, owing to the cash scarcity in India.
