Borrampalem is a village located near Gandepalle in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state in India. It is located on National Highway 16.

Features

Borrampalem village is administered by a gram panchayat. It is situated 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) from the sub-district headquarters at Gandepalle and 41 kilometres (25 mi) from the district headquarters at Kakinada.

The village has a 33/11KV electrical sub-station.

Demographics

The local language is Telugu.

According to the 2011 census, the population of 1116 comprised 322 families. 579 were male and 537 female. The literacy rate was 58.52 per cent, compared to a state average of 67.02 per cent.

Temples

There are temples dedicated to Rama, Ganapathi and Hanuman. Local deities include Sri Dharalamma Talli, Gogulamma Talli and Kanaka Durga.

Water and irrigation

Borrampalem village is surrounded by three ponds that are used for storing rainwater for animals, production of fish, and recharging of underground water. There are also two nearby Godavari canals, named Polavaram Project and Thota Venkatachalam Pushkara Lift Irrigation Scheme.
