Bootstraps are an American alternative rock band based in Los Angeles, California. They are best known for their self-titled debut album which contained songs from the original soundtrack to the movie Take Me Home as well as placements on numerous television shows. The group was named as a band to watch by numerous publications and also received the Best Music in a Film award at the Nashville Film Festival in 2011.

History
Bootstraps formed in 2011 as a project of Portland native Jordan Beckett who had moved to Los Angeles looking for screenwriting opportunities. He began by putting together music for Take Me Home, a 2011 film directed by his friend Sam Jaeger. Dave Quon and Nathan Warkentin of the group We Barbarians joined Bootstraps at the request of Beckett, who was also friends with them in college. Quon and Warkentin became the backing band for the live recordings that were produced by Richard Dodd. Shortly after the album release, the song Guiltfree was used in an episode of No Ordinary Family. Other song placements followed including for television shows such as Grey's Anatomy, Elementary and Private Practice. It also won the 2011 Best Music in a Film Award at the Nashville Film Festival.
Bootstraps re-released the album in 2014 on Harvest Records. In January 2014, they put together a band to perform the songs live, including a sold-out three-day residency at Hotel Café in Los Angeles. The band also recorded a cover version of Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody which aired on the show Grey's Anatomy. They also performed on Ben Lovett's Communion tour in 2014. It was announced that the group would release its new EP in the fall of 2014.
In April 2016 they released their second album - Homage.
Awards and recognition
Bootstraps has received accolades throughout the music industry, including being named a Rising Star of 2013 by Amazon MP3 and being listed on elite top-10 Best Album of the Year. Hydrogen Magazine also listed the group as a Band to Watch and they received the 2011 Best Music in a Film award at the Nashville Film Festival.
