History

The company was founded in 2005 in Toronto, Canada. Their first product, Phantom headphones, debuted on August 28, 2012. “Boomphones” is responsible for the production and distribution of its own products.

Products

Their original line “Boomphones” split the difference between old-school appeal and modern design. Boomphones Phantom Headphones are the world’s first headphones that can transform into a boombox. With their built-in microphone, Boomphones also can be used to answer phone calls, and a simple adapter turns the appliance into a mobile guitar amp. Boomphones feature four speakers, two on the inside and two on the outside, that provide the ultimate two-in-one audio experience and the LED lights show which mode the speakers are in; white when internally amplified, red when the bomb icon is pressed to blast the external speakers in boombox mode.

The headphones have three modes; a passive mode that doesn’t use any battery power, a bass boost mode that provides a much more full-bodied sound, and the boombox mode that turns on the external speakers. You’ll get about 10 hours of constant play with the bass boost, and 4–6 hours in boombox mode. The headphones are rechargeable via mini USB so you thankfully won’t have to buy any batteries. The Boomphones come with two interchangeable cables: one standard and one with a in‐ line microphone/volume controls.

The headset is currently available in matte black and polished white and can be purchased through their official website, Urbanoutfitters.com, Walmart.ca
