Bolpur subdivision

Bolpur subdivision is a subdivision of the Birbhum district in the state of West Bengal, India. It consists of Bolpur municipality and four community development blocs: Bolpur–Sriniketan, Ilambazar, Labhpur and Nanoor. The four blocks contain 40 gram panchayats. The subdivision has its headquarters at Bolpur.

Area

Apart from the Bolpur municipality, the subdivision contains rural areas of 40 gram panchayats under four community development blocs: Bolpur–Sriniketan, Ilambazar, Labhpur and Nanoor.

Bolpur–Sriniketan block

Bolpur–Sriniketan block consists of rural areas with nine gram panchayats, viz. Bahiri–Panchshowa, Raipur–Supur, Sarpalehana–Albandha, Singhee, Kankalitala, Ruppur, Kasba, Sattor and Sian Muluk. Bolpur and Panrui police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is in Sriniketan.

Ilambazar block

Ilambazar block consists of rural areas with nine gram panchayats, viz. Batikar, Ghurisha, Mongoldihi, Belati, Illambazar, Nanasole, Dharampur, Joydev–Kenduli and Sirsha. Illambazar and Panrui police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is in Ilambazar.

Labpur block

Labpur block consists of rural areas with 11 gram panchayats, viz. Bipratikuri, Dwaraka, Jamna, Labpur–II, Chauhatta–Mahodari–I, Hatia, Kurunnahar, Thiba, Chauhatta & Indus; Mahodari & Indus;II, Indus and Labpur & Indus;I. Labhpur and Nanoor police stations serve this block. Headquarters of this block is in Labhpur.

Nanoor block

Nanoor block consists of rural areas with 11 gram panchayats, viz. Bara Saota, Daskalgram–Kareya–I, Chandidas Nanoor, Daskalgram–Kareya–II, Kirnahar–II, Kirnahar–I, Thupsara, Uchkaran, Charkalgram, Jalundi and Nawanagar Kadda. Nanoor police station serves this block. Headquarters of this block is in Chandidas Nanoor.

Legislative segments

As per order of the Delimitation Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies in West Bengal:

  • The municipal area of Bolpur, the Illambazar block, and the gram panchayats of Raipur–Supur, Ruppur and Sattor under the Bolpur–Sriniketan block together will form the Bolpur assembly constituency.
  • The other six gram panchayats under the Bolpur–Sriniketan block as well as the area under the Nanoor block will form the domain of the Nanoor assembly constituency.
  • The Labhpur block will be part of the Labpur assembly constituency.
  • The Nanoor constituency will be reserved for the Scheduled castes (SC) candidates.
  • All the three constituencies will be assembly segments of the Bolpur (Lok Sabha constituency), which will be reserved for SC candidates.
