History
In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1113.
Geography
The municipality lies at an altitude of 200 metres and covers an area of 9.268 km². It has a population of about 1290 people.
It is around a 10-minute car journey from the neighbouring town of Hlohovec and it is served by a regular bus route from Hlohovec.
