Robert "Bob" Patison is President of MAVTV Motorsports Network as well as Executive Vice-President and General Counsel of Lucas Oil Products, Inc. His corporate responsibilities also include overseeing Lucas Oil Production Studios and Team Lucas marketing and advertising programs.

Contents

Under Patison’s corporate and legal oversight and as the number two executive to Forrest Lucas, Lucas Oil Products, Inc has become the world leader in the production of high performance lubricants and problem solving additives. The company boasts the largest variety of shelf products of any oil company in the United States, retailing at more than 30,000 auto parts stores nationwide and at every truck stop in America. Now in its 25th year, Lucas Oil has two major plants in the United States, the original one, a converted lemon juice factory in Corona, California, which also houses Lucas Oil Corporate Headquarters, Lucas Oil Production Studios, Team Lucas and MAVTV, plus a state-of-the-art 350,000 square foot facility in Corydon, Indiana.

Early life

A longtime member of the State Bar of California, Patison graduated from Western State College of Law in Fullerton, California in 1984 and entered private practice joining a now defunct local law partnership as a junior partner. Among the law partnership’s smaller clients were the legal needs of Forrest and Charlotte Lucas, who were transitioning out of the long-haul trucking business. Patison was so successful that all the Lucas corporate legal business landed on his desk including the founding of Lucas Oil Products, Inc., in 1985. Lucas hired Patison to oversee Lucas Oil corporate operations and become second in command of the rapidly expanding company in 1994.

Team Lucas

Team Lucas is the result of over two decade’s worth of planning, extensive market research, and some trial by and error by Lucas Oil culminating in the launch of the Team Lucas program in 2007. Since then, Team Lucas has been deeply involved in the branding of grassroots motorsports nationwide. Team Lucas allows companies direct access to affordable motorsports exposure with both an on-site race event presence plus hundreds of hours of national television that reaches millions of consumers each year. Current Team Lucas partnerships include Auto Meter; Bilstein Shocks; E3 Spark Plugs; FRAM; GEICO; General Tire; iON Shoot/Share Cameras; Kawasaki; KMC Wheels; K&N Filters; LoanMart; Loctite; Mickey Thompson Tires; Optima Batteries; Rockstar Energy Drink; Speedco; SuperClean; Tonka and Toyota.

Lucas Oil Production Studios

Patison also oversees the development of Lucas Oil Production Studios, which has grown to produce more than three hundred hours of television annually for CBS, CBS Sports, NBC, NBC Sports as well as MAVTV. Productions include the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Series, Lucas Oil Modified Series Presented by LoanMart, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series presented by GEICO, the Lucas Oil Drag Boat Series, The Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals and The Dave Despain Show, along with live broadcasts of both the 250 and 450 classes opening motos for the entire 12-round Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series. Other entities falling under the Patison umbrella include Lucas Oil Speedway, Lucas I-10 Speedway, and a presence in the Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.

MAVTV

In 2011 when Forrest Lucas purchased the controlling interest in the MAVTV television network, he appointed Patison President, with the responsibility of managing day-to-day operations including network growth, programming and production. MAVTV is targeting 50 million households in the next few years. Its programming is available in 68 million households across the US. Patison’s goal while at the helm of MAVTV is to make it the leading independently owned cable network in the USA and the premier motorsports destination for racing fans and gearheads everywhere.

Family

Since 1978, Bob Patison has been married to his wife Dawn, the Operations Director at Lucas Oil Productions. They are parents of Jason and Christin. Jason is the Director Programming for MAVTV in addition to being an established motor racing star in NASCAR's Super Late Model Series. Christin is a Field Producer for Lucas Oil Production Studios.
