Bob Jones was a British sound engineer. He was nominated for an Academy Award in the category Best Sound for the film Mary, Queen of Scots. He worked on over 100 films between 1952 and 1985.

Early Life
Jones began his career in 1952 in the post-production of the drama Derby Day by director Herbert Wilcox. For several years he worked without credits, it was not until 1954 that he received his first credit. He has worked on a number of major feature film productions, including Laurence Olivier's Shakespeare adaptation Richard III. and Stanley Donen's thriller Charade. In 1969 he was nominated for the BAFTA Film Award in the Best Sound category for the film musical Oliver for the first time.
In 1972 Jones was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Sound for Charles Jarrott's historical drama Mary, Queen of Scots along with John Aldred , but that year the award went to Norman Jewison's musical Anatevka.
