Company history

Blue Utopia began operations in 2004 and was the first firm serving the political campaign space to build and offer a campaign software system entirely as a service (SaaS). As of 2013, Blue Utopia had over 500 clients, made up of both campaigns and nonprofits. Blue Utopia was founded by Trace Anderson and funded by a small group of minority owners.

Products and services history

The company provides software for online communications, fundraising, state and FEC compliance, donor & supporter management (commonly referred to as CRM) and signature-gathering for initiative campaigns. In addition to providing an "easy and intuitive" web framework, they also provide hosting for and integrate with WordPress. As of 2014, Blue Utopia was a certified compliance software provider for the FEC and Washington State PDC.

In 2012, they launched a click-and-publish website system for political campaigns. In 2013, they were awarded a 2013 Pollie Award for the No-On-1185 online campaign, which used this system.
