John David Blake Butler (22 October 1924 – 15 April 1981) was an English actor best known for his regular role as Mr. Wainwright during the first three series of Last of the Summer Wine between 1973 and 1976. In addition, Butler made guest appearances on such programmes as Dad's Army, Doctor at Large, Bless This House, The Good Life, Paul Temple, George and Mildred and Grange Hill.
