BitsDuJour is a website that promotes desktop software through daily deals marketing methods. The website promotes Macintosh and Windows software applications that are discounted through use of a coupon code which allows purchase of the software application directly from the software developer's website. Promotions typically last twenty four hours, although the promotions may be extended for an additional twenty four hours.

Company

BitsDuJour, was founded by Ellen Craw and Jennifer Clarke in March 2006. The website initially launched with one deal every day for PC software, and the first deal was for MailWasher Pro, an e-mail filtering software application.

In August 2007 Nico Westerdale of Iconico, Inc. purchased BitsDuJour and re-launched the website. In December 2010 the website started to offer software for the Apple Mac. The launch coincided with a promotion for a Cross-Platform Software Bundle of ten applications that run on both the Apple Mac and Windows platforms.

BitsDuJour often runs promotions at 100% Off, essentially giving away the software application for free. They have given away over a million pieces of free software since inception.

Awards

In June 2010 BitsDuJour won the Best ISV Service Award at the 19th annual Software Industry Conference held in Dallas, Texas.
