William Livesey is a professional baseball manager and front office executive. He is currently a special adviser to the general manager of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Career

Livesey managed the Paintsville Yankees in 1979. He was the Yankees' director of player development from 1980 to 1982. He then managed the Oneonta Yankees in 1983-1984. He served as the Yankees' scouting director from 1991 to 1996.

Livesey moved to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays as director of player development in 1998 and special assistant to the GM in 1999-2001. He held the latter position with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2003 and the New York Mets in 2004-2005. Livesey returned to the Yankees organization as a scout. After the 2012 season, the Pittsburgh Pirates hired Livesey as a special adviser to general manager Neal Huntington.

Livesey's son, Jeff, is a coach with the Pirates.
