Big Switch Networks (Big Switch) is an early Software Defined Networking (SDN) company that now positions itself as the next-generation data center networking company. Big Switch sells automated networks for enterprise and service provider environments. Big Switch Networks has two solutions: Big Monitoring Fabric, a network packet broker (NPB), which enables pervasive security and monitoring of data center and cloud traffic for inline or out-of-band deployments and Big Cloud Fabric, a data center switching fabric for OpenStack, VMware, container and Big Data use cases. The products leverage the principles of software-defined networking (SDN), along with a choice of industry-standard hardware, including hardware sold by Dell Technologies, Accton, and Quanta. Big Switch is headquartered in Santa Clara, CA, with offices located in Tokyo, Sydney, London and Istanbul.
