Bidasar is a city and a municipality in Churu district in the state of Rajasthan, India. The marble produced there is highly valued for its beauty, strength and resistance to fire and erosion. Bidasar Brown Marble, popularly called Rain Forest Brown marble is very strong compared to others in the industry and usually takes good polish on the stone. Bidasar Brown Marble has light to medium brown hues of color with tree branch looking veins of dark brown and accents of white. Rainforest Brown Marble is known for extravagant appearance & exclusive texture. Used for a wide variety of articles, it has also been used to construct most of the many temples of the town.

History

Rao Shri Bida had 2 sons;
a) Rao Kalyan Mal, of Chhapar-Dronpur. He was defeated in battle and expelled from Dronput by Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner, 4 October 1527. Fled to Nagore.
b) Kunwar Sansar Chand. He had a son, Rao Shri Sanga, of Chhapar-Dronpur. Installed by Rao Jaitsi of Bikaner, 4 October 1527.
Geography
Bidasar-Dariba is located at 27.83°N 74.3°E / 27.83; 74.3. It has an average elevation of 304 metres (997 feet). The area is also very sandy and extremely rocky. Bidasar is the only locality primarily occupied by Terapanth, who migrated from small towns of Rajasthan and are responsible for a significant amount of fabric manufacture in the town.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Bidasar had a population of 30,103. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bidasar has an average literacy rate of 45%, lower than the national average of 59.5%; with male literacy of 56% and female literacy of 34%. 19% of the population is under 6 years of age. It is a place where Prajapati,solanki, gouri, behlim, daduka. aarbi, badgujjar and many other lilgar communities live together in nagina bajar.
