The Biakoye District is one of the twenty-five (25) districts in the Volta Region. Biakoye district capital and administrative centre is Nkonya Ahenkro.

One of the notable citizens of the District is Ave K. Kludze, a NASA rocket scientist who was honoured at the village of Gbi Kpeme, near Nkonya Ahenkro during a festival. Another notable is Hon.Jackson-Bright Dabanyi
