Bhuwal Mata is clan deity (Kuldevi) of the Chhajed and Nibjiya Pariwar with Bardia clan of Jains of Chhajed Pariwar. The temple of Bhuwal mata is located at Birhami or Birami village of Rajasthan near Jodhpur (30km east) and at Anapara near Dantrai, Sirohi District, Rajasthan.. This deity is not to be confused with Bhawaal Mata of Merta City & Bhuwal Mata of Anapara . These Kuldevis are of different clans- Bhuwal Mata of Chhajed's, Bhuwal Mata of Nibjiya Pariwar whereas Bhawaal Mata of Bengani's.

History

In ancient time the temple of clan deity of Chhajeds was at Khedgarh which is now known as Tilwara and is 15 km from Balotra an important city in the district Barmer of Rajasthan. The deity decided to move to Birhami in the year 1969 when about 12500 families of Chhajed clan were asked by Goddess herself to construct her temple within 24 hours. The footprints of Bhuwal Mata are still worshiped at Khed.

Every year in the month of Chaitra and Aasoj the Hindu Calendar of lunar months, during Navratri a fair is held in which Jain specially Chhajed participate from all over India and abroad.

How to worship

One must have taken bath before entering into temple,wear clean clothes. You are not supposed to wear black colored clothes. You may offer garland of flowers,sweets,bandhej saree. You may offer dry coconut in jyot (burning flame). Aarti is performed twice in a day - Morning aarti at 10.00 a.m.; Evening aarti at 7.00 p.m.

Statute of Lord Ganesha, Kala Bhairav, Dhola Bhairav, Trishul, Satimata, Hanuman ji, Laxmi Mata and Maa Saraswati are also worshipped in this temple.

How to reach

This temple is only 30 km from Jodhpur and can be reached by regular bus service or taxi or by two wheeler.
