Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express is a Rajdhani express train starting from Bhubaneswar, Odisha to the final destination of New Delhi. Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express runs via Adra (22811/12) and Bokaro (22823/24). Earlier this train used to go via Howrah.

Train

The Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express is an important superfast express train which connects Bhubaneswar to the Capital of India, New Delhi. The train is fully air conditioned and has a Pantry Car to provide veg and non-veg meals during the journey. The meals are pre booked with the ticket. The train has coaches of First Class, Two Tier and Three Tier accommodating comfort and luxury to the passengers. The First Class cabins for passengers is full of luxury, with entertainment, curtains, complimentary food and lockable rooms. This train uses modern LHB coaches like other important Rajdhani express trains run by Indian Railways and consists of 1 first class AC coach (1A), 2 no.of 2 tier AC coaches (2A), 10 no. of 3 tier AC coaches (3A) and one AC Hot Buffet Car (Pantry Car). It received LHB rakes in 2009.

The 22823/24 Rajdhani express (via Bokaro) covers a total of 1800 km in about 24 hours and 25 minutes (with WAP-4 and WAP-7 Locomotive) whereas the 22811/12 Rajdhani express (via Adra) covers 1734 km distance in about 22 hours and 50 minutes (with WAP-4 and WAP-7 Locomotive). The Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express runs at an average speed of 74-78 km/h and touches a top speed of 130 km/h between New Delhi and Gaya.

As the entire route is fully electrified, this train is hauled by a Ghaziabad-based WAP-7 end to end. Earlier it was hauled by a Ghaziabad WAP-4 and since October 2015 it is being hauled by a Ghaziabad WAP-7 from Bhubaneswar to New Delhi as regular link. But it is also gets a WAP-4 of Ghaziabad/Mughalsarai/Kanpur/Santragachi/Vadodara shed as offlink once or twice a week. Sometimes Tuglakabad and Howrah WAP-7 is also used to haul the train as offlink.

Its stoppages include Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Bokaro Steel City, Gomoh, Koderma, Gaya, Mughal Sarai, Kanpur and New Delhi railway stations. The other 22811/12 Rajdhani express (via Adra) has a journey time of 22 hours and 50 minutes and it makes 14 stops during the travel. Its stoppages include Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, Kharagpur, Bankura, Adra, Gomoh, Koderma, Gaya, Mughal Sarai, Kanpur and New Delhi railway stations.
