Bhilai Engineering Corporation was established in 1960. BEC manufactures hi-tech engineered equipment and machines for steel plants, mining solutions, railways, power plants, ports, defense and petrochemical industries. BEC Fertilizer, the fertilizers and agrochemical division of the company, manufactures Single Super Phosphate, NPK, diammonium phosphate (DAP) and an array of plant growth regulators (PGR), pesticides, weedicides and fungicides. BEC Foods makes fruit pulps and vegetable concentrates; tomato paste and orange concentrate are the primary products.
BEC Steel Foundry
BEC Steel Foundry, established in 1970, is situated at Bhilai. Major industries served are railways, mines, palletizing plants and other specialized manganese steel castings.
BEC Fertilizers
The fertilizer division of the company manufactures and markets Single Super Phosphate (SSP) under the brand name of "ANAND". The agro-chemicals division manufactures plant protection chemicals, plant hormones and micro-nutrients. The manufacturing unit is situated in the Sirgitti industrial area, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh and Pulgaon district of Maharashtra. The manufacturing plant was designed and constructed by L&T Limited.
BEC Foods
BEC Foods is the food division of the company. BEC Foods processes various tropical fruits into pulses, pastes and concentrates, and makes specialty products like ginger paste, garlic paste and other spice-based products. The company also offers a variety of juice blends across India and to the international markets. The food processing plant is located at Kuthrel, Durg District of Chhattisgarh.
