Bhatni Bazar is a town and a nagar panchayat in Deoria district in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is also, the headquarters of the Development block with the same name. A Sugar Mill and a Railway station mark its importance for the surrounding areas.

Geography

Bhatani Bazar is a small town with a nagar panchayat in Deoria district of the state Uttar Pradesh in India. It is located at an average elevation of 57 metres above mean sea level. Bhatni is divided into two markets one is known as Nooriganj Bazar (It is said that Noori miya has built this market) and other is Hatwa Bazar which is comparatively larger than the previous. Between these two markets, stands a Sugar Mill and Railway colony.

Nearby settlements include In the north of it are small towns like Khoribari, Rampur, Balua afgan & Ghantee bazar in the north, Peokol, Bharauli and Bharthua in the South, Uska, Nonapar, Bharhe Chaura and Sawrezi in the East, and Noonkhar, Pipra-devraj in the West.
Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Bhatni Bazar had a population of 14,381. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Bhatni Bazar has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; with a male literacy rate of 76% and a female literacy rate of 52%. 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Language

Languages used by people of Bhatni are Bhojpuri and Hindi. But most common is Bhojpuri. Nowadays English is being used by young generation.
Education

There are two private Degree collages Sita Devi Mahavidayalaya, and Bahadur Yadav Memorial Degree College affiliated to D.D.U. Gorakhpur University. There is an intermediate college named Subhash Intermediate College in the heart of town. This is Oldest college in the vicinity of 10km area. A government Junior High School is located in Hatwa.
Politics

Bhatni, as Nagar Panchayat, has always been in limelight for the politics of Chairman elections. Bhatni has seen development since it was declared status of Nagar Panchayat. Mohanlal Gupta and Urmila devi have served as chairman earlier. Ramesh Verma has also served as Chairman thrice. Vijay Gupta is current chairman of Bhatni Nagar Panchayat. Many other notable leaders representing all main parties such as SP, BSP and BJP is found in the town. Rajesh Gupta, Ramesh Verma, Ramsagar Yadav, Gajala Lari (MLA) along with her loyalist Vijay Gupta. Balram Jaiswal is a notable congress leader in Bhatni.
Tourist spots

Being a small town, Bhatni lacks magnificent tourist attractions. There are Famous temples like- Maa Jalpa Devi temple, Mahadeva Mela, Choti Gandak are the only known places of tourism. It attracts people from the local areas of U.P and Bihar. One can hangout at Bank of River Chhoti Gandak in the evening.

There are two small markets, as well as a sugar factory in and a small river named Chhoti Gandak near ward no 6 kewra vishal. Nooriganj is situated between Chhoti Gandak and Bhatni railway station. Railway station is near kewra ward no-6. It is served by a rail route, as well as a national highway, which is located 8 km from town. Bhatni Bazar is approximately 1 km from Bhatni railway junction. From there, vehicle services are provided to reach nearby villages. Here there is an intermediate college named Maninath Inter College. Jalpa mandir & Mathiya mandir & Darbare Maula Ali is famous of Bhatni.
