Sardar Sonajirao Bhapkar, (Gorakhji's successor), took active part in the Battle of Panipat and escaped from that disaster.later, Sardar Durgojirao Bhapkar, his brother Kadoji Bhapkar and Sardar Shahajirao Bhapkar, who were faithfuls of Peshwa and played important part in Anglo-Maratha Wars and other battles. Sardar Dattajirao Shinde, Gwalior Chief, was married to the Kashibaisaheb Bhapkar,they had a son but he died after few days from his Birth. These are Originally Bhoites, however some Bhapkars are from Clan of Rathod and Chavan.
The Bhapkar are a sub-clan of the Bhoite clan of Marathas in India. Their capital is at Loni Bhapkar (Baramati).
