Bhagawati Prakash Sharma is the Vice-Chancellor of Pacific University Udaipur, Udaipur (Rajasthan). He is also known as B.P. Sharma.

Biography
Bhagawati Prakash Sharma is an Economist who has been teaching Commerce and Management at Degree and Post Graduate levels since 1978. His work includes studying global trade , implications of neoliberal economic policies, defence & security related issues, internal security, agri-bio terrorism & geo strategic endeavors of China. He has studied the emergence of China on the economic and geo strategic horizon. He has delivered several talks on China related issues across the country. He has authored twenty monographs including three on China.
Sharma has also participated in the 5th and 6th Bi-annual Ministerial Conferences of the World Trade Organization (WTO), held at Cancun (Mexico) and Hong Kong in 2003 and 2005 respectively. He has authored 14 text books in various areas of Commerce and Management including General Management, Business and Corporate laws, Stock Markets, International Business, Business Environment and Marketing etc.. He has also authored more than a dozen popular monographs on economic globalization, World Trade Organization (WTO), FDI in Retail, Swadeshi, Intellectual Property Rights, Security threats from China, Genetically modified crops, Intelligent Design Theory etc.. He has been active in the Swadeshi Movement since 1991. Presently he is one of the All India Co-Conveners of the Swadeshi Jagaran Manch. He has more than 200 research papers and articles to his credit, which have been published in various journals, magazines and newspapers. He is an expert on Ancient Indian Scripture.
Bhagawati Prakash Sharma specializes in Global Business and Economic Scenario. He has participated in the 5th and 6th Biannual Ministerial Conferences of the World Trade Organization (WTO). He, along with his team, was also invited for a presentation on WTO related matters by the Indian Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Commerce.
He received his Doctorate from Mohanlal Sukhadia University in 1988, on the topic of Collective bargaining. He received a Master of Commerce degree in Business administration from the University of Udaipur in 1977. He received a Bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Udaipur in 1974.
