The series

Each 30 minute show was composed of short sketches. Taking place around a fictional, low-budget television station, interstitial channel switching clips were interspersed between segments, often eclectic arrangements onto themselves. Segments from earlier shows often included music performances; segments from later years included more humor based skits.

Cast members who went on to greater fame include Larry Karaszewski, Daniel Waters, David Simkins (writer, Adventures in Babysitting), Diane Werts (creator of "For Better or Werts"), Dean Norris, and Corrie Wynns (journalist for WMAQ radio, AP Radio Network and Sheridan Broadcasting Network). An advisor from 1975 to 1977, Donald P. Borchers became a film producer, notable for the 1984 and 2009 versions of Children of the Corn.

The closing theme song was "Remember" from the album Son of Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson.
