History

Berico was founded in 2006 by military veterans.

In 2011, Berico Technologies spun off two companies: 42Six Solutions (later acquired by Computer Sciences Corporation) and Praescient Analytics.

In October 2012 at the United States Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) annual GEOINT Symposium, Berico released CLAVIN (Cartographic Location And Vicinity Indexer), an open-source software package for document geotagging and geoparsing that employs context-based geographic entity resolution. CLAVIN extracts location names from unstructured text and resolves them against a gazetteer to produce data lists.

In November 2012, Berico became an Authorized Systems Integrator in the Cloudera Connect partner program.
