History

The course was designed in 1935 by 5-time Open Champion and renowned golf course architect James Braid. The 9-hole course has seen few changes over the years, staying true to Braid's design. Bentra Golf Course is one of only two courses designed by Braid in Northern Ireland.

Course

One of Whitehead, County Antrim's two golf courses. Bentra Golf Course is touted to be one of the longest 9-hole courses in Ireland, spanning 3042 yards long. The course was designed for both experienced and novice golfers in mind, with wide fairways and avenues of grand old trees, plus some particularly long holes.

Beyond the course lies the stunning countryside views, the historic settlement of Ballycarry, the tranquil waters of Larne Lough and idyllic Islandmagee peninsula. Next to the course is the unique green space of Whitehead’s Diamond Jubilee Wood.

Mini golf

The latest addition to Bentra Golf Course is an 18-hole mini golf course. Each hole highlights key points of interest from the Borough.
