Overview

In 2009, the school received a $52,000 grant from the U.S. federal government's stimulus program to upgrade its cafeteria equipment. The school was eligible for the grant because more than half its students were eligible to receive free or reduced-cost school meals.

Athletics

Benton Harbor High School boys basketball team represents Benton Harbor High School in the SMAC or the big 16. Benton Harbor High School's mascot is a tiger. The Tigers play their home games at what is now called Don Farnum Gymnasium. The boys basketball team won state championships in 1941,1964 and 1965.
