2015: Sirens

Melbourne indie folk artist Ben Abraham began his career as a screenwriter, with a part-time job entertaining children in hospitals. To cope with every-day life situations, Abraham began writing songs and playing gigs at local fundraisers, in order to eventually go on and tour with Emmylou Harris, write with Grammy-award nominee Sara Bareilles and modestly self-release his debut album "Sirens" in Australia. CMJ's Eric Davidson calls Abraham's voice "delicate yet booming" and "Sirens" a "strong, electro-soul" record. Secretly Canadian calls "Sirens" "deeply human" and tells various, touching stories of his personal life. Abraham signed to Secretly Canadian in 2015 and will launch a worldwide global release of "Sirens" in 2016.
Musical style

Ben Abraham describes his musical style as cinematic folk, often using guitar, ukulele, piano, or the harmonica to charm and seduce his audience with haunting and angelic vocals. He releases his music in an evolutionary style, that demonstrates his growth as an artist as well his overall growth as a person. He is known to play each song in a specific order to demonstrate how the album progresses as a story. Hailing from Indonesian folk stars as parents, Abraham incorporates harmonious vocals and experimental, soulful arrangements in "Sirens."
