Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation – is a public association, sport organization of the Republic of Belarus.

History

Belarusian shooters won medals in the USSR team at the world championships in the 1970s (for example, A. Androshin won the gold at the world championship in 1973). In the early 1990s the clay target shooting in Belarus fell to pieces. But even in such conditions Belarusian shooters participated in international competitions – in 1996 Yu. Stolypin won the silver medal at the European Championship in individual trial.

Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation was founded in 2000. Its Chairman is Andrey Alexandrovich Gerachtchenko, the member of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.

The national clay target shooting team consists of 20 Belarusian shooters who participates in different national and world competitions on the regular basis.

Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation was accepted to the Federation Internationale de Tir aux Armes Sportives de Chasse (FITASC).

As of 2010 the Federation comprises 2000 members.

Purposes and tasks of the Federation

  • development of the clay target shooting as a sport, some disciplines of which are included in the program of the Olympic Games;
  • assistance to the physical culture and sport organizations in their activity in respect to the development of the clay target shooting, including by improving the material and technical base of the republican sport organizations in order to ensure their activity;
  • interaction and cooperation with European shooting federations and clubs with the purpose of sharing experience, popularization of the clay target shooting, equipping of shooting stands, holding and organization of competitions (club, republican and international competitions).
  • Shooting range

    Public Association “Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation” is the founder of the first shooting club in Belarus – Sporting Club. Shooting ranges was opened in 2003 and consists of five shooting ranges. From 2005 the Sporting Club is the center of the Belarusian clay target shooting team preparation to the Olympic Games.

    Competitions

    The Federation holds competitions in all disciplines of clay target shooting. The Open Cup of the Republic of Belarus, the Championship of the Republic of Belarus and the Open Cup of the Federation became a good tradition. Every year the best shooters from the Republic of Belarus, from the near-abroad countries and far-abroad countries, participate in these competitions.

    In May 2006 the European Compak Sporting Championship organized by the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), Russian Shooting Union and Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation took place in Minsk.

    In September 2008 the Belarusian Clay Target Shooting Federation supported by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus organized the World Cup Final in shotgun where the 57 best shooters of the world took part.

    In June 2009 the Stage ISSF World Cup in shotgun took place on the shooting facilities of the Federation.
