Early life

Bedrockk was born on October 20, 1986 in Long Beach, CA.  He grew up surrounded by music and creativity, and was largely influenced by his grandfather, Irving Schwartz, a dancer and jazz man originally hailing from the Bronx, NY. Bedrockk moved to Colorado when he was 8 years old, and grew up in Colorado Springs before attending college at University of Colorado at Boulder, where he studied communication and psychology, and fronted several bands that blended blues/soul music with subtle electronic elements.  After college, he moved to Denver, CO, where he met Dawn Safari and Matthew Salazar, the artists and business partners who would be essential to the foundation of his record label DIRTY//CLEAN.

Career

Bedrockk’s first release, Get Born was released on January 1, 2012 on San Francisco/Denver based label DIRTY//CLEAN.  Following this EP, he released several singles over the following year, including the track “Faded” (released on UK label Deep Heads), “Oceans Lifted”, "Bottle Sippin" (released on American music journal Complex), and “Believe” (released on American music curator Run The Trap).  Bedrockk’s next EP, Black & White came out on DIRTY//CLEAN in February 2014.  This release was followed by his most recent Ultra Violet EP that was released on DIRTY//CLEAN in July 2015.  This EP was the release that launched Bedrockk’s career into the global music community, gaining support from top international curators including Clash Magazine, Thump (Vice), and AXS.  Bedrockk’s futuristic take on soulful electronic music has gained attention from listeners around the world.  His most recent dancehall-inflected single, “Show Me” featuring Dominican vocalist Lyrique was released in March 2016, and premiered on American media curator, Billboard.
