BeTV was a cable and satellite TV channel, owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment in the Asia-Pacific. Launched on 2 April 2012 at 06:00 MST/SST/PST/CST by the channel was formerly known as AXN Beyond and it is a spin-off of the two popular channels AXN Asia and Sony Entertainment Television South East Asia under permission due to Sony Pictures Entertainment in the Asia-Pacific. It was available in throughout the 15 countries around the Asia-Pacific region (Brunei, Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Thailand) and features a line-up and a new on- and off-air look and feel programmes, with a channel "personality" to match. Aside from Asian feed, selected programs from AXN Philippines and Sony Entertainment Television South East Asia which exclusively available to Philippines viewers.

beTV HD Malaysia feed shutdown and from beTV to Sony Channel in the Philippines

Subscribers in Malaysia via Astro, the beTV HD channel feed has ceased transmssion from 26 August 2013 at 00:00 MST. Meanwhile, subscribers in the Philippines had a big changes from 15 October 2014 at 06:15 PST, beTV will be upgraded as Sony Channel. The change affected the Philippine feed of beTV only while its retained in Hong Kong and selected Asian countries.

From beTV to GEM

With the continuous change of the viewing landscape, Sony Pictures Television was officially announced that beTV will ceased broadcast in several parts in Southeast Asia starting from 1 August 2015, Saturday at 00:00 HKT in Hong Kong, then on 14 September 2015, Monday at 00:00 SST in Singapore and on 30 September 2015, Wednesday at 23:59 JKT/BKK in Indonesia and Thailand. beTV was replaced by the secondary Asian-content channel, GEM. Its officially launched for Hong Kong, Indonesia and Thailand viewers effective 1 October 2015, Thursday at 07:00 BKK/HKT and 06:20 JKT.
