South Africa Welcomes Agreement in Syria


Baso Sangqu (born 21 April 1968, in Idutywa, Eastern Cape) is the South African permanent representative to the United Nations. He was appointed on 17 March 2009, having served as deputy previously.

Sangqu was a member of the International Criminal Court search committee to find a replacement for Luis Moreno-Ocampo.

In January 2012, Sangqu was the President of the United Nations Security Council.
