Barry John Maister ONZM (born 6 June 1948 in Christchurch) is a former field hockey player from New Zealand, who was a member of the national team that won the gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal. He is also a current member of the International Olympic Committee.

He worked as school teacher for much of his career, and was a secondary school principal for 15 years.

During his hockey career he played 85 games for New Zealand, and was selected for four Olympic Games.

Maister was made an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit in the 2012 New Year Honours, for services to sport.

Maister has been an International Olympic Committee member since 2010.

He is a brother of New Zealand hockey players Chris and Selwyn Maister.
