Abu Anees Muhammad Barkat Ali (ابو انیس محمد برکت علی لودھیانوی) (April 27, 1911 – January 26, 1997) was a Muslim Sufi who belonged to the Qadri spiritual order. He was the founder of the non-political, non-profit, religious organisation, Dar-ul-Ehsan.

Early life

He was born into a Muslim family belonging to the Dhariwal Jatt ethnic group. His father, Nigahi Bakhsh, was an employee of the British Army. He gave many interviews to the Pakistani National TV Channel PTV.
Literary works

His contributions to literature hold significant acclaim within the Muslim community, earning him a place among the noted Muslim writers and poets. He authored over 400 books covering a broad spectrum of subjects, including religion, ethics, and philosophy.

Death

Barkat Ali died on January 26, 1997, at the age of 85. He is buried in Faisalabad.
Honorary stamp

On 27 April 2013, Pakistan Post office issued a stamp with a denomination of Rupees 8 under its "Men of Letters" series in honour of Sufi Barkat Ali.
