Banknotes were issued for the Jason Islands in 1979 by the islands' owner, Len Hill, under the title of 'Administrator'. The Jason Islands are constitutionally a part of the Falkland Islands.

There were five denominations - 50 pence, 1 pound, 5 pounds, 10 pounds, and 20 pounds. They carry the clause 'VALID UNTIL 31 DECEMBER 1979' on the backs of the notes.

50 pence

This note is a green colour. It depicts a Humboldt penguin.

1 pound

This note is a purple colour. It depicts a jackass penguin.

5 pounds

This note is a red colour. It depicts a rockhopper penguin.

10 pounds

This note is a blue colour. It depicts a gentoo penguin.

20 pounds

This note is a brown colour. It depicts a king penguin.

The banknotes were sold as souvenirs, but they are still quite collectible, especially with those who collect Falkland Islands banknotes.
