As per Election Commission Report 2009, in the constituency there were 2,031,030 electorates out of which 959,828 females and 1,071,202 were males. Total voter turnout was 908,590 (44.74%). Total 20 candidates contested the election. Ananth Kumar from BJP won by a margin of 37,612 votes.
