Bandon Grammar is a mixed fee paying school which caters for both day students and boarding students. Currently Bandon Grammar accepts many international students from countries such as Germany, Spain and France...even Kerry.

Bandon Grammar has released a brand new block in September 2011 opened by past student Graham Norton.

History

Bandon Grammar School was founded in 1641 by Richard Boyle, 1st Earl of Cork.

Notable past students

  • Graham Norton, TV chat show host and actor. Norton attended BGS and finished his leaving cert in 1981.
  • Darren Sweetnam, Munster rugby player and former Cork hurler.
  • Lennox Robinson, playwright and Director of the Abbey Theatre, contemporary of W.B. Yeats.
