Drew Dosch
Drew Tyler Dosch (born June 24, 1992) is an American professional baseball third baseman in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Dosch played college baseball at Youngstown State University from 2011 to 2013. During his career he played in 151 games and hit .325/.397/.447 with 11 home runs and 83 runs batted in (RBI). In his final collegiate game, he tore his ACL. Despite the injury, Dosch was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the seventh round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. After spending 2013 rehabbing the injury, he made his professional debut in 2014 with the Delmarva Shorebirds. He finished the season with a Delmarva record 157 hits. Dosch started 2015 with the Frederick Keys.
Joe Gunkel
Joseph Dillon Gunkel (born December 30, 1991) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Gunkel was the MVP of the NCAA Division II College World Series in 2012. He would later be drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 18th round of the 2013 draft. Gunkel was traded to the Orioles in June 2015 for Alejandro De Aza. At the end of the 2015 season, Gunkel was rated the 24th best prospect in the Orioles farm system. The Orioles added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season.
Josh Hart
Josh Hart (born October 2, 1994) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Hart was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the first round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. He signed with the Orioles and made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Orioles. He also played for the Aberdeen IronBirds that season. In February 2014, Orioles manager Buck Showalter asked Hart to write a one-page report on Frank Robinson, after Hart admitted that he did not know about Robinson. Hart played 2014 with the Delmarva Shorebirds and Gulf Coast Orioles. He missed time during the season due to a torn meniscus.
David Hess
David James Hess (born July 10, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Hess played college baseball at Tennessee Technological University. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Aberdeen IronBirds and also spent time with the Delmarva Shorebirds. He started 2015 with the Frederick Keys and was promoted to the Double-A Bowie Baysox during the season.
Chris Lee
Christopher Ulysses Lee (born August 17, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Lee was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 37th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of Thomas Richard Robinson High School in Tampa, Florida. He did not sign with the White Sox and attended Santa Fe Community College. He was then drafted by the Houston Astros in the fourth round of the 2011 MLB draft. In May 2015, he was traded from the Astros to the Baltimore Orioles for two international signing bonus slots. The Orioles added him to their 40-man roster after the season.
Jesús Liranzo
Jesús Manuel Liranzo Ramón (born March 7, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles organization. In 2016, he played for the Delmarva Shorebirds of the Class A South Atlantic League and the Bowie Baysox of the Class AA Eastern League. The Orioles added him to their 40-man roster after the season.
Ryan Mountcastle
Ryan Lee Mountcastle (born February 18, 1997) is an American professional baseball shortstop in the Baltimore Orioles organization. He was drafted by the Orioles in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft. He attended Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida.
Chris O'Brien
Chris Charles O'Brien (born July 24, 1989) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
The son of former Major League Baseball catcher Charlie O'Brien, he attended Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wichita State University before being drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 18th round of the 2011 MLB draft.
O'Brien played in the Dodgers farm system from 2011–2014 with the rookie league Arizona League Dodgers and Ogden Raptors in 2011, the Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga Quakes from 2012–2013 and the Chattanooga Lookouts of the AA Southern League in 2014. He also played for the Glendale Desert Dogs of the Arizona Fall League. The Dodgers invited him to Major League spring training as a non-roster invitee in both 2014 and 2015.
On April 9, 2015, he was traded to the Baltimore Orioles (along with Ben Rowen) for pitcher Ryan Webb and another minor leaguer.
Jomar Reyes
Jomar Michel Reyes Pimentel (born February 20, 1997) is a Dominican professional baseball third baseman in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Reyes signed with the Baltimore Orioles as an international free agent in January 2014. He made his professional debut that year with the Gulf Coast Orioles.
Anthony Santander
Anthony Roger Santander (born October 19, 1994) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Santander signed with the Cleveland Indians as an international free agent in July 2011. He made his professional debut in 2012 for the Arizona League Indians. From 2013 to 2015 he played for the Lake County Captains. He also played in eight games for the Mahoning Valley Scrappers in 2015. Santander spent 2016 with the Lynchburg Hillcats where he posted a .290 batting average with 20 home runs and 95 RBI's.
Santander was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2016 Rule 5 draft.
Tanner Scott
Tanner Alexander Scott (born July 22, 1994) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Scott played college baseball at Notre Dame College in 2013 and Howard College in 2014. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Orioles. In 2015, Scott pitched for both the Aberdeen IronBirds and Delmarva Shorebirds, where he posted a combined 3.83 ERA between the two clubs. After the season, he pitched in the Arizona Fall League. Scott spent 2016 with both the Frederick Keys and the Bowie Baysox, where he went 5-4 with a 4.76 ERA.
Chance Sisco
Chance Thomas Leo Sisco (born February 24, 1995) is an American professional baseball catcher in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
Sisco attended Santiago High School in Corona, California. Sisco was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He opted to sign with the Orioles rather than play college baseball at the University of Oregon.
Sisco made his professional debut that season for the Gulf Coast Orioles and ended the year with the Aberdeen IronBirds. He finished his first year hitting .363/.468/.451 and a home run in 33 games. Sisco played the 2014 season with the Delmarva Shorebirds. He won the South Atlantic League batting title after hitting .340 and also had five home runs and a .854 On-base plus slugging (OPS).
Aneury Tavárez
Aneury De Jesús Tavárez Trinidad [ah-nay'-oo-ree / tah-vah'-rez] (born April 14, 1992) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization.
The Red Sox signed Tavárez as an international free agent in October 2010, signing him a bonus of $80,000. His first four seasons in the minors were unremarkable – a combined .254 batting average (289-for-1136) with 336 strikeouts and just 66 walks in 314 games.
Tavárez opened 2015 at Class A- Salem Red Sox, where he improved to .280 with a .444 OBP and .447 of slugging in 39 games. He then was promoted to Double A Portland Sea Dogs during the midseason and ended the year with the Triple A Pawtucket Red Sox. Overall, he posted a .253/.314/.401 slash line with a .715 OPS in 112 games.
After spending the 2015 season at three levels, Tavárez settled into Double A in 2016 and struggled early in the year. As late as May 5, he was hitting .219 with a .534 OPS and was fighting for playing time before settling down in June, when he posted a robust .413 average and was briefly called up to Pawtucket for six games. And Tavárez accomplished as he moved again to Triple A, hitting .389/.522/.667 with a one home run and five RBI, while collecting a 1.188 OPS.
Since his return on July 1 to Double A, Tavárez hit .341 for the Sea Dogs during the month, boost his batting average to .336 in August, and finished the season with a career-high 12-game hitting streak, in which he went 15-for-37 (.405), missing out on the Eastern League batting title by a narrow margin. Binghamton Mets infielder Phillip Evans overtook Tavárez on the last day of the season, edgind him .3351 to .3350. Besides, Tavárez led the league in triples (13), along with a third-best .379 OBP (.379) and fourth-bests in SLG (.506) and OPS (.886). He also earned Portland Sea Dogs Most Valuable Player honors and was named to both the Eastern League mid-season and season-ending All-Star teams. Moreover, Tavárez led the Red Sox minor league system in average and triples, ranking third both in SLG and OPS behind Andrew Benintendi (.532/.910) and Yoan Moncada (.511/.918), fifth in OBP, sixth in hits (132), and eighth in stolen bases (20).
On December 8, 2016, Tavárez was selected by the Baltimore Orioles in the 2016 Rule 5 draft.
