Bainji Kandai is a village in Rudraprayag district, Uttarakhand, northern India. It is at a distance of about 25-30 kilometres from the main market of Rudraprayag and lies on the Rudraprayag-Chopra-Pokhari-Udamanda road.

The nearby villages include Jaggi Kandai, Eshala, Banthapla, Bijrakot, Mohan Nagar, Thapalganv, Dhung, Jarmwar, Agar, Kokhandi and Quidi. The population of the village is around 300-400 but most of people have migrated to other major cities due to unemployment and poorer living conditions.

There is an old Kartik Swami temple situated in the middle of the village which has been recently renovated. Kandpal people also worship the god Nadbudh Bhairav. It is their "Eest Devta." Nadbudh Bhairav temple is about 1 kilometre from the main village.

Educational facilities are provided elsewhere, at places such as Bainji Kandai and Kandai. The nearest locations for higher education are at Agastyamuni, Rudraprayag, Gopeshwar and Karanpravaq, and at the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University.

The nearest government hospital is at Kandai. Jagtoli is a Green Pasture area located on top of village with a small market place, a Temple and an Government Inter College. Jagtoli is now being exploited as an place for Residential area by many Villagers as it is connected to Road now. Kandai Village is still deprived of Road as it is not connected to Road. Kandpal is dominant Brahmin cast of the Village and also Purohi,Bhatt,Vashist,Baskandi Negi,Khatri And some S.C. Families are living their most of Working class is of Teachers and other sector in Government and private Institutions, also earning their livelihood by adopting Religious rituals in need.
