Baikalov is a Russian private tour operator which specializes in travels on the Lake Baikal. It is one of the leading tour operators on Lake Baikal. The main office is located in Irkutsk at 70 kilometers from the Lake Baikal. The company has got two representative offices: in Ulan-Ude and in Moscow. Tour operator acts through the partner agencies and representations in international market. There are three foreign representations: In Warsaw (Poland), in Minsk (Belarus) and in Beijing (China). The company is included in Siberian Baikal Association of tourism (SBAT) and Association of Russian tour operators (ATOR).

History

Baikalov tour operator was created in 2007. Its old name was Baikal Adventures company (till 1 November 2011). In the result of rebranding the company has changed its name and positioning. Originally the company was founded as a tour operator of Baikal adventure tourism. Subsequently Baikalov has become a multi-discipline tour operator which organizes a comfortable rest on the lake Baikal.

The founder and general director of the company is Anatoliy Kazakevich.

Innovations

Primarily Baikalov is known for innovative projects for the development of ecological tourism. In 2008 Baikalov has built the unique ice Russian baths and has launched the big raft which has an area of 400 square meters. In 2009 Baikalov has run the project “Eco-tour”: the company has equipped a floating hotel at the territory of 'Zabaikalsky' (Transbaikal) National Park. Also Baikalov has presented the concept of Baikal alpine eco-hotel “Attraction” for free riders. In 2010 tour operator Baikalov participated in developing of ecological resort “OrganicEscape” in the north of Baikal. In 2011 the company has conducted first trekking tours of touristic cluster “Baikal harbor” in Buryatia. Also in 2011 Baikalov was the first tour operator which has run the line of cruise tours around the nature reserves of Baikal. Also the company initiated the development of Baikal brand direction and published the magazine “Baikalov Day”about different types of rest on Baikal.
