Unlike Better Off Alone who only got as high as number 2 in the charts Back In My Life managed to reach number 1 in Norway and was just as successful as the previously released single "Better Off Alone", it managed to peak at number 27 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart. The single performed better in the UK. It peaked at number 4 in the UK in December 1999 and sold well into 2000, its total known sales in that country are 425,500. And as of 2015 the song is still popular and played on dance music channels
