Baba Kanaiya Gir

Dera Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Maharaj is an ancient Shiv Temple located in the village Harsa Kalota, Mukerian, Punjab. This temple is named after the saint Shri Shri 1008 Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Maharaj (श्री श्री 1008 बाबा कन्हैया गिरि जी महाराज).

History

The Dera (temple) is approximately 200 year old and known by the name of its first saint Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Maharaj. Villagers are staunch followers of the Dera. People from far flung areas visit the Dera and get blessings of the Baba. There are many true stories associated with history of the Dera, to mention some of them are 'Baba Kanaiya Gir Ji Maharaj ka Bohar (huge Banyan tree in the temple) ko Mishri lagana' aur protection of the village from flood of Beas River.

Famous Jaikara of the Dera is बोलो बाबे बोहड़ां वाले की, सदा ही जय "Bolo Baba Bohran Wale Di, Sada Hi Jai"
