Career

His first achievement was when he had been inducted to the International Library of Poetry in 2002. He participated at some poetry contests and won numerous awards and accolations.

In 2003, he co-produced the album "Sumuklu Kiz" by the newcomer Atesh, for which he wrote four songs. The album was a commercial failure, but helped Dogdu to get in touch with Turkish director Deniz Akel. Deniz Akel and Aziz Dogdu teamed up in more than 70 videos, with Aziz co-directing, producing, assisting or writing the treatments. The duo came together in November 2009 for Kenan Dogulu's video "En Kiymetlimsin".

His first music video carried a social message about domestic violence expressed through violent images. The video was eventually canceled due to its content.

In 2004 Dogdu won the award for "Awards of Appreciation for the use of English" in 2004 by the American Poetry Academy.

In 2006 Dogdu began doing the cover shooting for Kurdish diva Leila Fariqi. In 2010, Dogdu planned to work with director Miguel Mas for the filming of the short story "Divas on the Swing of the Night."

Dogdu is translating the late pop superstar Michael Jackson's self penned autobiography Moonwalk into Turkish. It will be the first time the book will be translated into Turkish since its first publication in 1988. He also is in talks with a British publishing house for his first poetry book in seven years, tentatively called "Mirrors". The poetry book is expected to hit stores in 2011. Creatively, Turuskan has also teamed up with Turkish popstar Niran Unsal as her creative director for her upcoming projects starting with NU Club Project, in July 2010.

Aziz Dogdu's collaboration with Niran Unsal has reached the end due to some creative differences. "Working with me is hard for I love pushing the limits. One has to be courageous and brave and have a large point of view. Otherwise it won't work", said Dogdu. "My collaboration with Niran had to end for we never got well with each other creatively. She wanted something different from me.A different style, a different image, but she never dared to apply what I wanted her to do. One reason was her boyfriend who has the total control over her and her life as well as her fear of not being accepted. It was not a sudden decision. I just wanted to be sure about her intentions. When I felt it was not going to work I farewelled her".

Suspending his creative intentions for a while Dogdu worked on his first ever translation project planned to be out late 2011. In the meantime, he also plans to return to participate at the poetry contests. "Writing poetry is an easy task for me, but bringing out to people takes long for me". Dogdu plans to make his most intimate poem "Mirrors (the title of his upcoming book)" an entry for the contests.

As Dogdu was busy with his other projects, his agent Megan P. Jones in 2009 pushed him to pay attention to his writing projects. However, Dogdu declined and went on with his projects. Jones knew that Dogdu needed to return to writing for it was the best way for him to express himself. It had been almost more than three years since he last wrote. So, she needed to convince him. Jones knew that if Dogdu would be pushed in something like a book, he would jump over this idea.

Jones first pushed him for the poetry book he works on so slowly. But Dogdu said that the book will be out when he feels it is ready. So, Jones announced that she suspended her agreement with Dogdu until he decides to make a comeback as a writer. This decision shocked Dogdu and he decided to pay attention to his writing projects and poetry book. He first announced in April 2011 that his much delayed and long awaited poetry book will be out late 2011 and is called "Mirrors".

In May 2011, the poetry book is delayed once again as Dogdu decided to take totally another direction which is not as a poet but as an author. "I felt that I had some things to say. That's why I suspended "Mirrors" and started planning this book".

Dogdu's agent Megan P. Jones announced via a press release that Dogdu is planning a book called "Vampire Superfly Sisters". "After a long hiatus from the scene, Dogdu returns with a book that is based on his experiences in the Turkish music industry". The press release shook the Turkish media and Dogdu disappeared once again. In that time, while planning his book and its direction, Dogdu worked on his first translation. It was a book translated from English into Turkish.

The content of the book is not revealed yet, but according to Jones, Dogdu will express every detail of his life between 2003-2007 as well as 2010-2011.

2011-2014 Kalkedon Publishing asked Dogdu to translate the book 'Animasyon Filmler' in June 2011. As Niran Unsal asked him to join her team in February 2012 for her upcoming EP "Ince Ayar (Fine Tuning), Dogdu accepted her invitation and helped also to reshape Unsal's label NU Muzik. The EP failed bitterly when compared to her previous efforts. Unsal was in feud and arguments with Turkey's two big music video channels, her sole video from the EP 'Bir Sans Daha (One More Chance)' was not aired and could not reach a mass audience. In August, claiming that Unsal did not pay his share as well as mobbed him during their collaboration, Dogdu parted ways for good and concentrated more on literary. 'I don't think I can rely on Unsal anymore for her know-all attitude that allows one not to get in full creative freedom makes one weak. i'm not interested in working with her anymore. Actually I'm not interested in returning to the show-biz anymore. I will concentrate on books. It's been a great pleasure for me, but a bitter one".

Before parting ways with Unsal, Dogdu was asked to translate the book of the highly acclaimed and successful German author Sarak Lark. The first book of her New Zealand Saga 'In Land of the White Long Cloud', has been translated since September 2012 and is expected to be finished at the end of October.

Dogdu's next translation was published in 2014 by Kalkedon. He also hopes to translate, if the first book is well received by the publishing house, the other two book of the New Zealand Saga by Sarah Lark.

Furthermore, Dogdu told his close circle that after more than five years he plans to team up with Deniz Akel again for some music video projects in early 2015. One of them is rumored to be the Turkish pop superstar Hande Yener. The projects have not been revealed yet for Dogdu fears of being cheated and his projects as well as details to be stolen. He is said to have kept all the details at his home. Dogdu also plans to team up with Aysu Cogur, an Australian-Turkish singer for a few projects including "Fist". However, none of them have been confirmed officially.

Dogdu has already two translated books published. One of them in 2012 "Animasyon Filmer" and the other one is Eric Brown Seytan Nebulasi by Kalkedon.

2015

It has been revealed that Dogdu had already teamed up with Deniz Akel for some projects. "I wanted to have a more creative control on my own. I have some projects and they can only be realized by Deniz Akel. One of them will really shock everynoe. It is a first in its own field". He also made a comeback to poetry/lyric contests with his lyric "Fist".
