Aventura Technologies Inc, is an American company that designs, develops and manufacturers IP and analog, enterprise-level CCTV, digital video recorder (DVR) and network video recorder (NVR) systems including; intelligent video analytics, security cameras, fiber optic, UTP accessories, hardware and software peripheral solutions for business, gaming and government. The company's headquarters is in New York City.

Aventura Technologies introduced the H.264/MPEG-4 AVC video compression algorithm to the video security industry in 2003, which has now become the standard for all security manufacturers. The H.264 video standard is now used and accepted by virtually all branches of the government and military.

1999 Introduced voice and video over low packet networks technology for security, teleconferencing and wireless mobile

2000 Designs world’s first MPEG-4 DVR for video surveillance

2001 Launched the world’s first enterprise DVR/NVR open standards non-proprietary platform supporting third-party solutions

2002 Introduced the world’s first solid-state mobile video surveillance DVR supporting up to 16 camera; introduced line of high resolution analog cameras for extreme environments

2003 Introduced the H.264/AVC DVR technology to the security industry (baseline profile); introduced line of fiber transmitters, receivers and media converters

2004 Teams with International Research Institute to further develop and market video encoders and decoders for surveillance using the H.264/AVC platform

2005 Released the world’s first 128-channel real-time DVR/NVR platform using H.264/AVC; designed advanced analog matrix switch which can control DVR’s from multiple manufacturers

2006 Designed the world’s first 256-channel real-time hybrid DVR/NVR using the more advanced H.264/AVC Extended Profile with IP camera support

2007 Commenced production of the world’s first hybrid mobile DVR supporting both analog and IP megapixel cameras with onboard intelligence; released auto tracking wide-dynamic range intelligent auto-tracking pan/tilt/zoom camera

2008 Released hybrid hardware decoder supporting analog and IP cameras using MJPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264 with advanced virtual matrix switching; designed line of Power over Ethernet (PoE) and PoE+ compliant analog, IP and hybrid cameras with complimentary midspan devices; launched the new H.264/SVC (Scalable Video Coding) standard with advanced performance over predecessor H.264/AVC

2013 released range of cameras featuring new H.265 codec. Offering up to 50% less required bitrate than H.264.
