The Australia women's national lacrosse team represents Australia at women's lacrosse. It is governed by Australian Lacrosse Association. They are currently ranked 3rd in the world, being the United States and Canada. They have won the Women's Lacrosse World Cup twice (1986 and 2005), and were runners-up 4 times. In the FIL Women's World Cup in July 2009, the United States reclaimed the gold by winning a tightly contested final match-up over rival Australia 8–7 in Prague, Czech Republic. The team for the 2013 FIL Women's Lacrosse World Cup, which was held in Oshawa, Canada, was selected in December 2012. The team is a full member of the Federation of International Lacrosse.
