Organization

Atlanta Boom is designated as a club team because it is outside the school system. The club is housed in Adamsville Recreation Center. This organization has sixteen teams. These teams are composed of girls ages 13–18 from the metro Atlanta area and surrounding states. They have two types of teams each varying in competitiveness and time commitment. The first team is the diamond team and is considered to be the best team. The second team is the orange team which would be considered the second best. Both of the teams compete in the same division just on different levels. The levels are Power and club, power being the most competitive. Each team represented has a different ranking. The one that comes first is the higher team and the one that comes last is the lower team. All the teams hold twelve to fifteen players based on age group. There is not a recruitment process. The tryouts for all teams are held in November and last roughly two days.
