The renowned film actor Aslam Parvez was born in 1932 into an educated, enlightened and well known family of Lahore.There are many notable figures in his family from his great grandfather Ghulam Rasool a famous philanthropist mentioned in the ,”Book of Punjab” ,who was in the business of property development and he was the owner of a sizeable amount of property on the Mall Road and a prominent social figure of Lahore. His brother Moyene Najmi was an artist par excellence. A Pioneer in the field of art in Pakistan. He established the first Art Gallery known as “The Art Gallery” in Lahore.
Professional career
Aslam Parvez entered the film industry in the year 1955. He had started his film career in film producer Anwar Kamal Pasha's film Qatil (1955) as a side hero. Thereafter he played the leading role in the film Patay Khan opposite Noor Jehan. and from thereon he never looked back. In his film career, he performed different roles as hero, villain and character actor. And many super hit films are to his credit. Neend, koel,Ishq par Zor Naheen, Zarqa, Mitti Dian Murtaan, Pengaan, Rahguzar were his other classic movies. In koel Aslam Parvez performed the leading role opposite the film actress Noor Jehan and Neelo. He was also the superb villain in the movies like Saheli, Insaan aur Admi, Tehzeeb and Baharo Phool Barsao.
The Prince
He was fondly known as The Prince in the film circles. He was admired for his sense of style and his impeccably cultured bearing. He epitomizes the Sauvé and elegant presence in the Pakistani cinema.
He left an indelible print on the Pakistani film screen and people still admire him as one of the finest actors of the film industry. He was versatile and his powerful portrayal of villainous characters, created awareness regarding such people in the minds of cinema goers and helped in the reformation of the unsavory practices in our social cadres.
Furthermore, he was the patron-in-chief of a popular cricket club in Lahore. Being a good cricketer himself, he always financed the club.
Personal life
He was married to his second cousin Surriya before he joined the Film industry. They have left behind four children , two sons and two daughters.Zulfiqar Aslam, Asghar Aslam, Asiya Aslam and Aqsa Aslam.
In his personal life he was a kind and caring man. He went out of his way on many occasions for people associated with cinema, especially those who were under privileged and out of the lime light. He was a champion for their cause and worked and contributed for their well being and promotion. He made generous contributions towards their welfare and upkeep. He was a kind father and a caring and a loving presence in his extended family. He extended love beyond his immediate to is siblings and nephews and nieces who called him “Daddy.
Death
While coming from a shooting of a film, he was injured in a car accident and died because of that accident on November 21, 1984. Last Movie was Khuddar (1985).
