Master of Business Administration (MBA)

The MBA program at ASB emulates the MBA curriculum at MIT Sloan where focus is placed on project-based action-learning with an Asia-centric context. The first batch of MBA students will enroll in September 2016. Students will also attend classes and training for a month on the MIT campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts in the USA. Graduates will be issued with a degree from ASB as well as a Certification of Completion from MIT Sloan.

Location

Until a permanent campus is built on the edge of the Kuala Lumpur Business District, ASB is located on the premises of Bank Negara Malaysia specifically in Sasana Kijang. On 23 February 2016, a new campus is being built at an adjacent site in Bukit Perdana, Kuala Lumpur.

Relationship with MIT Sloan

Bank Negara Malaysia, as the founding organization, has a 10-year collaboration deal with MIT Sloan to provide support to ASB in terms of curriculum development, as well as faculty and staff, among others. This is one of the many collaborations MIT Sloan has with institutions around the world.

Governance and Leadership

The Co-Chairs of ASB Board of Governors are Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, the former Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia, and Professor Richard Schmalensee, Dean emeritus of MIT Sloan.

Other Board members include Professor David Schmittlein and Professor S. P. Kothari of MIT Sloan, Tito Mboweni, past Governor of the South African Reserve Bank, as well as business leaders from the Asia region, including Azman Mokhtar, Tony Fernandes, Shahril Shamsuddin, Martin Tang, Aswin Techajareonvikul, Gita Irawan Wirjawan, Enki Tan, Ng Kok Song, and Philip Yeo.

The first President and Dean of ASB is Charles Fine, the Chrysler Leaders for Global Operations Professor of Management and Professor of Operations Management and Engineering Systems at MIT Sloan.
