Ashpipe is an Italian Ska punk band formed in 2007 from Volpedo, Italy.

The band is known for political activism, and various sociopolitical sentiments like antifascism and antiracism.

History

In 2008 they released their first studio album, Waiting for Wave, self-produced, later reprinted and distributed in Europe by the German Diffidati Records in 2009, followed by a tour in Italy and Germany.

In 2011 they released his second studio album, Born Bad, distributed in Italy by Kob Records and in Europe by the German label Mad Butcher. The album's promotional tour took Ashpipe in Germany, Croatia, Poland and Czech Republic. In this album we found the presence of Marino Severini from The Gang in the song La volante and Enrico from Los Fastidios in the song Football Unite. From Born Bad are published three singles, Cuore e polmoni, Hooligans Attitude and Rum & Drum.

Political activism is a fundamental characteristic of this band: the singer Camillo Moroni wrote a book about the Resistance in Oltrepò Pavese and in Val di Nizza entitled Parlano ancora Guardamagna publisher, 2013.

In 2013 he released the first EP, Too Much Focused About the Current Political and Economical Situation So Let's Talk About Ironic and Thoughtful Matters produced and distributed by Kob Records / Mad Butcher.

In 2015 he released third studio album titled Ancorati for the Italian label IndieBox Music. May 13, 2015 is published on YouTube the video of the first single, Trema Cuba.

In 2015 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of Italy from fascism they publish a punk rock version of Oltre il ponte Ashpipepunk, Ashpipe – "Cuore e polmoni" – Official video, YouTube, 20 giugno 2012. URL consultato il 4 maggio 2016., words by Italo Calvino, previously set to music by Modena City Ramblers with a musical arrangement inspired by the original music of Sergio Liberovici.

In April 2016, Ashpipe edited the soundtrack of a documentary entitled NOI Partigiani dell'Oltrepo, published by ANPI section Barona.

Over the years Ashpipe have shared the stage with bands of the ska punk and oi! Italian and international scene such as: The Real McKenzies, The Oppressed, Los Fastidios, Talco, The Offenders, Stage Bottles, Argies, Bluekilla, Loaded, The Dreadnoughts, No Relax, Red Union, Statuto, The Gang, Punkreas, Dubioza kolektiv.
