Independent Success

The band found success when they won both a local and the subsequent national "Have a Nice Gig" contest that Bon Jovi put on in 2006. After initially playing with Bon Jovi at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Jon Bon Jovi personally invited Ashbury to open for Bon Jovi's July 19, 2006 show at Giants Stadium in New Jersey. A Las Vegas CBS radio station, Mix 94.1, put Ashbury on their rotation, where they were the most requested group for three weeks in a row. They also licensed the majority of their album "Complacency" to MTV, with their song "Come On" debuting on "The Hills" reality show in late 2006. They performed on national television for the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon in 2006 and 2008.

During the group's run it opened for artists such as Panic! at the Disco, Jewel, Live, Collective Soul, and Paramore.
