Teachers Colony Ground in Arumuga Koundanur is maintained by Kongu riders cricket club, which is one of the leading regional cricket clubs in Coimbatore. The ground is on the footsteps of Ayyaswamy Hills near Perur. The ground is used by Kongu Riders Cricket Club and various teams used to play practice matches and tournaments in this ground. Ground History

The ground was part of residential sites maintained by Teachers Colony and owned by Mr. Thangavel. Kongu Riders Cricket Club owners organized and prepared the ground and pitch from January 1, 2016. It took more than a month to set up the ground and the first match was played on 14.02.2016 between the home team, Kongu Riders and IT Peoples, in which IT peoples won by 3 wickets.

Kongu Riders CC

The Kongu Riders Cricket Club (abbreviated as KRCC), also referred in other names as Kongu Cricket Club or Arumuga Koundanur Cricket Club, is a regional club cricket team based in Coimbatore. Teachers Colony Ground is used as the home ground for Kongu Riders Cricket Club in Arumuga Koundanur. They also have one more home ground in Arumuga Koundanur MR Garden Ground- Krishna Nagar, situated about 1 km from the new ground. The Kongu Riders are currently captained by Siva Kumar. The team is currently administered and managed by Ashok and Silambarasan.
The team participated in several Cricket ball tournaments and ended up runners up in 2 tournaments, Masters Champions trophy, and Arumuga Koundanur trophy. Kongu Riders also participated in major district level tournaments like the G-Developers CDCA League Entry Knockout tournament in 2014 and 2015.
